How to spoof your webcam with fake video on chatroulette

“How do you hack your webcam?” gets asked over and over on chatroulette. Many people are using software to play video through their webcam, show still pictures on their cam, or spoof their webcam on chatroulette. Some people just want to adjust the color, some want to add decorations or text. The surprising thing is it’s all very easy to do.

1. Download software. I use ManyCam
2. Disable the watermark text. Go to Effects -> Text over video -> uncheck show manycam logo
3. Find content to use during spoofing. Any video will work but you can go to youtube and search for “webcam” for a good start. Once you have the link to a video you need to use something like http://vixy.net/ to get it into a format that works with the software.
4. Load the video you downloaded.
5. Start chatroulette and click play. Mouse over your video window and change the source to ManyCam.
6. Have fun.

(note if you get an error message try closing anything that could be using your webcam including any browser windows that have or had chatroulette open)
